Alan Carr is still living the Traitors fantasy — this time with hay bales, a Frankenstein costume and an open invite to everyone in his new Scottish hometown.

More than a year after he was crowned the winner of BBC's Celebrity Traitors, the comedian hosted a Traitors-themed Halloween bash at Ayton Castle, the baronial estate in Berwickshire he bought earlier this year for around £3.25 million. According to The Sun, Carr sent an open invitation to the entire village of Ayton — population about 650 — and plenty of locals showed up.

Outside the castle, guests found a marquee, food trucks and hay-bale seating. Some dressed as Traitors host Claudia Winkleman; others stuck to classic Halloween looks. Local baker Robert Whitten brought a Traitors-style cake topped with a figure of Carr in the show's iconic turret. Carr himself went full Frankenstein, with green face paint and stitched forehead makeup for the night.

The party fits a wider charm offensive since he moved in. Carr has submitted plans to turn derelict potting sheds on the estate into a community cafe and shop — a scheme Scottish Borders Council tourism officers have called supportive in principle, saying it could boost the area's offer for visitors. He is also preparing to transform parts of the castle into a luxury hotel and spa project expected to be filmed for Disney+, with the working title Castle Man from Expectation, the producers behind Clarkson's Farm. Locals reportedly spotted cameras and microphones at the Halloween gathering, suggesting the bash may appear in the series.

For a comic who won over Traitors viewers by plotting inside a castle, throwing the doors open to his real-life neighbours is peak Carr: theatrical, generous and firmly on-brand.
