Michelle Keegan is getting into the festive spirit early, and she has brought her little girl along for the fun.

A magical day out

The actress, 39, posted a sweet video on Instagram showing herself and daughter Palma strolling through a garden centre as they made a start on their Christmas shopping.

Keegan explained that the trip meant a lot to her personally. “I’ve been coming here my whole life, especially this time of year,” she wrote, recalling that she used to sit on Father Christmas’s knee there as a child.

This time, she visited with her mum and Palma. “Watching her eyes light up the way mine used to was just magical,” she shared. In the clip, Palma can be heard sounding amazed by everything around her, and Keegan added a caption about “her little voice saying ‘wooooow’.”

Keeping Palma out of the spotlight

Keegan and her husband, DJ Mark Wright, also 39, welcomed Palma in March 2025. The couple have largely kept their daughter’s identity private and rarely post photos of her, so even a brief glimpse like this one is a treat for fans.

The pair, who married in 2015, live in a £3.5 million home in Essex near Wright’s family, and have enjoyed several family holidays over the past year.

Putting family first

The heartwarming post comes shortly after Keegan stepped away from a major new ITV drama, written by Sherlock writer Steve Thompson, only weeks before filming was due to begin this month.

According to The Sun, she has said she wanted to concentrate on family life. A source told the paper that the demanding schedule “would take her away from daughter Palma for too long,” especially as the project would have followed straight on from her Netflix drama The Woods.

The same source said Keegan remains “dedicated to her acting career” but, like many working mums, has to balance work with being present for her daughter.

A familiar face on British TV

Keegan first found fame in 2008 playing Tina McIntyre in Coronation Street and later starred in the BBC military drama Our Girl from 2016 to 2020. For now, though, her favourite role appears to be making festive memories with Palma.
