Vanderpump Rules and The Valley alum Jax Taylor is asking a judge to order his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright to pay him roughly $17,000 a month in spousal support — and he is blaming her abuse allegations for wrecking his earning power.
According to Page Six, which cited a filing obtained by Us Weekly on Friday, Taylor, 47, made the request more than two years into the couple’s contentious divorce. His attorneys argue he would be “at the top of his game” again if not for what they call Cartwright’s campaign against him, claiming the fallout has been “emotionally and financially devastating.”
Court papers list Taylor’s average monthly income at about $30,334 from work as an actor, reality star, TV personality and podcast creator, with estimated monthly expenses near $28,944. The same filing estimates Cartwright’s company took in more than $630,000 in gross income between January and May. Taylor’s side says the income gap grew after what they describe as a 2026 effort to sabotage his public image and entertainment opportunities — including a lost reality-TV role and a partnership that was not extended, per related reporting.
Cartwright, 37, painted a very different picture earlier this year. In an August restraining-order request, she alleged “coercive control, financial abuse, emotional and psychological abuse, gaslighting and even physical violence.” Page Six reported that her lawyer did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the new support demand.
The pair separated in early 2024 after five years of marriage, with Cartwright filing for divorce that August. In March they reached a custody agreement for their son Cruz, 5: Taylor has Wednesday nights and every other weekend, they share joint legal custody, and Cartwright holds tie-breaking authority on medical decisions. Taylor is also seeking changes to that medical decision-making setup, according to TMZ’s reporting on the same filing, with a hearing scheduled for late December.
For Bravo fans who have watched the split play out on and off screen, Friday’s paperwork turns the volume up again — dollars, allegations, and a custody fight that is far from over.
