Jane Seymour is not packing up her Malibu life — no matter how many times the fire alerts sound.

In an exclusive interview with Page Six, the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman star was asked whether she has ever considered leaving the coastal city after years of emergency evacuations. Her answer was immediate: “No.”

“It’s the most beautiful place and the community here is wonderful,” Seymour told the outlet.

The 75-year-old actress and jewelry designer has lived on her Southern California oceanfront estate for more than three decades. She bought the roughly 6,300-square-foot property for $3.4 million in 1994 and has stayed through wave after wave of wildfire threats driven by Malibu’s rugged terrain and fierce Santa Ana winds.

Those threats have been anything but theoretical. Seymour said she and her household have been through at least half a dozen fires over the years, including the December 2024 blaze that forced her to evacuate as flames closed in on the neighborhood. Her home ultimately survived, but the scare was close enough that she still talks about it with a mix of gratitude and clear-eyed realism.

“I hope and pray that my house will be here for a very long time,” she said. “When you live in a place that’s close to nature, you just have to have respect for it.” She also credited firefighters who helped protect the area: “I’m incredibly grateful to the fire department that ultimately helped us as well.”

Seymour has not left her safety plan to luck alone. She described ripping out garden plants that were not drought-friendly or that could ignite easily, then following guidance from fire officials on what to keep and what to clear. She also pointed to practical defenses on the property itself.

“I have fire hydrants,” said Seymour, who is engaged to musician and ER physician John Zambetti. “We have a system from the pool. We do what we can, but I do love it here.”

That attachment, she argued, is about more than the view. After traveling the world for work and life, she still calls Malibu uniquely magnetic. “There is something magical about where we live and the community we’re in,” she told Page Six. “I’ve been here a very long time, and I will always support this community.”

Away from the hillside fire season, Seymour has kept a busy creative lane. On Nov. 6 she launched a lab-grown diamond collection with QVC under her Soul to Soul jewelry line, spanning sterling silver earrings, pendants, rings and bangles. She framed the pieces as more than carat counts or metal choices, tying the designs to a message she associates with her mother, a World War II survivor: when life closes people off, purpose and helping others can open the heart again.

“It’s not just a piece of jewelry,” Seymour said of the collection. “It has an enormous amount of meaning.”

For a star who has rebuilt gardens, rehearsed evacuation routes and still refuses to trade Malibu for somewhere safer on paper, the jewelry launch fits the same theme she keeps returning to — staying put, staying connected, and treating beauty as something worth protecting.
