Holly Willoughby has one of the most recognisable blonde manes on British TV, and her big secret is surprisingly low effort: in summer she barely uses shampoo.
"In the summer, I tend not to even shampoo my hair, 'cause I try not to take any of the oils out of it. I just condition it," the presenter explained. She believes skipping the suds keeps her hair thicker and shinier.
The mum-of-three admitted it hasn't always gone smoothly. Her natural colour is "like a dirty blonde", and after a spell as a brunette she tried to go blonde again at home - and it turned green. Her fix was to add red, before she finally told herself to "just go to the hairdresser's". She also warned fellow blondes that chlorine is no friend of light hair, and admitted she has had extensions put in for extra volume.
It is a relatable confession from a star who is usually seen looking flawless on screen, and proof that even TV favourites have had the odd beauty disaster at home.
Holly was speaking as her lifestyle brand Wylde Moon launched a limited-edition body cream and body wash with Beauty Pie. The duo is scented with Wylde Moon's signature fragrance, (borrowed from) The Wild, a fresh blend of bergamot, geranium, blackcurrant, mint and rose.
Holly has described the scent as "a feeling" rather than just a perfume, and the new bodycare pair is designed to turn an everyday shower routine into something a little more luxurious. Both products are available through Beauty Pie.
She shared a few other beauty confessions too. Her first laser treatment to remove skin pigmentation left her looking sunburnt for about a week as the skin flaked off. Her old beauty sin was brown lip liner with concealer on her lips. These days, if she is tired or hungover, her go-to is simple: an eyeliner flick and a red lip.
Holly also backed her friend Leigh Francis, best known as Keith Lemon, to be a great campmate on I'm A Celebrity. She called him "pretty resilient" and said viewers would see the real Leigh: "what you see is what you get", adding that he is "just a really lovely person".
