Dean Norris’ private life just got a lot less private. Page Six reports that Bridget Norris quietly filed for divorce from the Breaking Bad star on February 14, 2025, and that the couple’s California diner is also fighting a heavy pile of debt in bankruptcy court.
According to court documents obtained by the outlet, Dean responded to the divorce filing in May 2025. The case does not appear to be finalized. Bridget cited irreconcilable differences and listed their separation date as January 15, 2025. She is asking for joint legal and physical custody of their children, plus spousal support, TMZ reported, as relayed by Page Six.
The financial picture is tangled up with the family business. Their company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection with about $147,810 in assets against roughly $1.81 million in liabilities, per the papers cited by Page Six. Chapter 11 lets a business restructure what it owes so it can keep operating. At the center of it is the Swing Inn Cafe, an old-school diner and barbecue spot in Temecula that has been open since 1927. Dean was recently still greeting fans there over a weekend visit.
Norris, 63, is best known as DEA agent Hank Schrader on AMC’s Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013. He has kept working steadily since, including a turn as Randall Stabler on Law & Order: Organized Crime. He and Bridget, a former entertainment lawyer, have been married since 2001 and share five children, including two still under 18.
The restaurant is not their only joint project. In 2018 they opened the Norris Performing Arts Center in Murrieta, California, offering dance, vocal, acting, and musical theater classes for kids and teens.
Page Six said it reached out to Dean’s representative for comment and did not immediately hear back. For fans who mainly know him as Walter White’s no-nonsense brother-in-law, the filings are a reminder that even the most familiar Hollywood faces can be navigating very real family and money stress behind the scenes.
