A whole year after quietly announcing she'd had a baby, Cardi B has finally told the world her son's name and shown his face.

On Wednesday the Grammy-winning rapper, 34, went on Instagram to mark her youngest child's first birthday. She revealed that the little boy, her fourth child and her first with NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, is called Grey.

A heartfelt birthday tribute

Cardi wished “Grey M.D.” a happy first birthday and wrote that, even though she'd only known him for a year, it felt like he had always been with her. She said she carried him through one of the most uncertain, high-pressure times of her life, and that being pregnant with him gave her extra strength to get through it.

She also played on his name, saying he had given new meaning to what a “Grey day” feels like. She praised the way his smile, laugh and gentle spirit light up every room he's in.

The carousel gave fans their first proper look at the toddler. In one photo he sits on a bed in a baseball cap. In another he's dressed as a tiny doctor for Halloween, a cute nod to the “M.D.” in his birthday message.

How the news first broke

Cardi first shared that she'd given birth back in November 2025, but she kept the details to herself. At the time she wrote that she'd brought a new baby into the world and called the child one more reason to become the best version of herself. She also said the baby was one more reason to love herself, so she could keep giving her children the life they deserve.

She didn't say whether the baby was a boy or a girl in that post. She saved that for her Instagram Story, where she confirmed she'd had a son.

Diggs, 32, had already mentioned the baby's sex a few days earlier in an interview with People. He said a boy was “enough” for him and joked that he couldn't wait to have his son doing push-ups, sit-ups and laps.

A growing blended family

Cardi and Diggs were first linked in February 2025. They have since split, although they got back together briefly earlier this year and later made headlines over a public disagreement at a coffee shop.

Grey joins a busy household. Cardi shares three children with her estranged husband, rapper Offset: daughter Kulture, 7, son Wave, 4, and daughter Blossom, who turned 1 earlier this year. Cardi was pregnant with Blossom when she filed for divorce in July 2024. The couple married in September 2017 and still haven't finalized their divorce.

Diggs is also a father to several other children, including his eldest daughter, Nova, who was born in 2016.

Grey has had his big reveal, and the “Bodak Yellow” star made it clear that her youngest is already the light of her life. After a year of keeping him private, fans finally got to meet him, and the doctor costume was a big hit with them.
