Beanie Feldstein has been keeping a very sweet secret. The Booksmart actress has revealed that she and her wife, producer Bonnie-Chance Roberts, became parents to a baby girl months ago.

Feldstein, 33, shared the news in an interview with People on Wednesday. She hasn't told fans the baby's name yet, but she clearly had plenty to say about her daughter.

Beyond my wildest dreams

The Golden Globe nominee said her daughter is beyond anything she ever dreamed of. She explained that she had always wanted to be a mother, and always hoped for a girl. She described looking at her daughter every day and feeling that the reality is better than anything she could have imagined.

She also praised Roberts. Feldstein said that watching her wife become a mom has been one of the most special parts of the experience, and that raising their daughter together feels like a gift. She called motherhood unbelievably beautiful.

A tougher recovery than expected

Feldstein was also honest about the hard parts. She revealed that she faced some health complications after giving birth. She didn't go into detail, but she said the experience has shown her a new kind of strength she didn't know she had. She called that new strength empowering and beautiful.

One of her favorite moments so far was her daughter's first smile. Feldstein said she has heard people describe newborns as little “blobs” who don't really come alive until around six weeks old, and she firmly disagrees. She said she could sense her daughter's personality from the minute she was born, and seeing that come out in a smile felt like magic.

From bump reveal to baby

The couple first shared their pregnancy news on Instagram in May with a joint post. They playfully announced a “Limited Edition Scouse Beanie Baby,” with the caption “Coming soon!!” The slideshow showed Feldstein in a pink dress cradling her bump, plus a cake decorated with ribbons.

In June she posted a bump update, cheerfully showing off her outfit of the day at nine months pregnant in a set of sidewalk photos.

A love story that started on Skype

Feldstein and Roberts, 35, have been together since 2018. They first met over a Skype call during casting for How to Build a Girl, which Roberts produced and Feldstein starred in. Sparks flew when they met in person, and they started dating soon after.

In June 2022 they had a mutual proposal. Roberts got down on one knee first, and Feldstein immediately did the same. The two married in New York in May 2023 at a summer camp-themed wedding, a tribute to Feldstein's family, several generations of whom met their partners at camp. Broadway star Ben Platt sang for their first dance.

Now their family has grown by one, and Feldstein says she is loving every minute of motherhood.
